The scrambler is a timeless classic, and is a staple in almost any carnival midway. Many spin offs (pun unintended but appreciated) have come from it, like the merry mixer, the sizzler, the twister, and a few others.
Above is the ride racked, wile raised up. They raise it so they can lower it on the semi truck.
And it lowers to the ground.
Now the 3 seats are removed from the back.
Now you will notice the cluster lights are on a hinge thing.
Here you can see they are flat.
Now they are lifted up.
From the side showing the lights.
Now the sign is raised.
SCRAMBLER YAY!
And the Pipe cleaner that holds the sweep in is disconnected.
And the sweep swings out.
The sweep is then secured at the top,
And the bottom.
1 sweep is out.
Now they are both out.
Now the connectors that connected all three hinges are removed,
and set aside.
Now the 3 cluster lights are connected.
This is where the seats go. That parts still racked.
First the first sweep is lowered down
and secured.
The second sweep is down and secured.
Then the seats are attached.
Now the seats are on and we move to the other 2.
And after the other 2 are setup, the ride is finished.\
And lit.
And now we move to the wayout swings.
This was just a cool pic. The wayout swings sits in the glow of the scrambler lights.
Racked.
And lit up.
So first the trailer hitch is removed.
As well as the winch on the back.
Now the seats are removed,
And the wire is uncoiled from them.
All seats undone.
Now you will see that the last 1/4th of the sweep folds in.
Well the pin that holds the sweeps folded half in is removed. Its actually just bent paperclips because wire was to flimsy.
And now the last 1/4th hinges downward,
Then the feather light is unfolded.
All the sweeps are complete and unfolded. (now you can unfold the sweep when its half raised, but I did it this way because its also been done that way and its easier to explain.
Now the winch is attached to the top.
This was just a neat picture of the scrambler and half racked expo wheel in the back. Just thought you all might enjoy that. And were back in.
Now the wire is uncoilded a little, and attached to the sweep
Then the sweep is raised up.
Its done by turning the crank which winches up the sweep.
Thats the connector that holds the sweep up.
And that is connected and the sweep is secure.
Thats 1 sweep up.
Now the winch is connected to another sweep and the whole process is started again.
This is a video of the sweep going up. If it doesnt work there is a video of it on my you tube channel.
Thats 2 sweeps.

A unique view from the back.

And all 8 sweeps are raised.
Now see those decor pannels,
well the 1 with a small square drawn on it is removed,
revealing the inside.
Now the work platform is unfolded,
and raised.
All of the sweep pins are hung up inside until racking.
Now spacers are unfolded from the sweeps.
Then the wheel is moved and another is unfolded.
All spacers undone.
That shows the inside of the swings. Now the work platform is re folded and re racked. Again more for effect.
And the decor panel is re attached.
Now the ride is completely up.
And lit up.
The real swings. This was before the decor panels were added but sorry.
And the scrambler.
The end.BUT WAIT I LIED!!!!!! I have some interesting expo wheel pics to show. Hold back your tears of absolute joy and look at the pictures.
For 1 u will see a motor
A closer view. Well when that motor is turned on,
It sends a signal to the motor that then cranks in a winch and pulls out the sweep. There is a video of it on you tube.

I am also going to say that this is one of the last posts of the season. Some updates and painting will go on threw out the year, but for the most part, the season is over, and the rides will go back to the winter quarters.
