Shenandoah shows summary

This blog is a display for my projects. I make models of carnival rides out of knex and pipe cleaners and a few other items. They rack (tear down) like the real rides. If you are viewing this site for the first time let me give you a tour. Below are posts. If your new you might of missed some, so scroll threw and back to see other projects. To the right, is a tab that says pages. Click that and it will take you to a list of pages, including carnival terminology, and youtube, as well as a few others. Enjoy and comment. P.S. if you comment, don't ask me for, or leave any personal info. I ask that you address me as Shenandoah shows, or idog0698. Thank you.

Stripping a ride

When ever a ride is painted, I have to strip it. Stripping it means breaking it down to bare knex. I decided to to a tutorial about how I do this. I will be working with the eli hy 5 2 ferris wheel. The steps vary between each ride.

The ride is racked. Everything is still in place.
First, the decor is removed from the towers and wind braces.
The parts that are removed are set aside.
Now, I must raise the towers for easier access to other parts.
The sweeps are now spread apart slightly.
Now I remove the rim irons.
Then the blue led twist lights are removed.

Then, the star is removed, piece by piece.
 The sweeps are bare.
 Now its lowered back down.
 Now the lights are removed.
 The winch is removed.
The sweeps stay together, but are removed.
All thats left is the hub and the seats.
 the seats are removed.
There sits the seats and the hub with the A frame.
Now the pipe cleaners are removed from the cluster lights in the front.

This is everything that was removed.
And this is the trailer, ready for painting.
This is the real rides trailer. Thats the color Im going to paint it. I will post more pictures once its done.
